Departmental Discussions: Departmental Policies

Since we have now moved into new quarters, we need to consider how to make the best use of our facilities. Although we want everyone to be confortable and relaxed in this space, we need to establish some ground rules about how to best utilize this space. For example, it is not appropriate for faculty to spend significant time picking up after students (and conversely).

The purpose of this forum is to help formulate appropriate depatmental policies for optimal functioning of all interested parties. Some areas for draft departmental policies are:

• CS Commons usage, including use of refrigerator, microwave, assignment/use of cubblies, files, general handouts;
• Clean Up for teaching labs, classrooms, print room, study areas; and
• Noise Levels in study areas and teaching labs.
