Reviewers' Notebook: The Computer Science Faculty: Expectations for Service

From CSWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

While faculty members are expected to serve the College through committee membership, the extent of this expectation is rather vague. Indeed, the Faculty Handbook does not mention service in its description of "Faculty Duties and Responsibilities," but it does include service as an important element to be considered for salary, contract renewal, and tenure decisions.

In principle, the college seems to intend that service include activities both on campus and off. However, discussions and documents often emphasize work specific to Grinnell College.

In lieu of specific service expectations, we present information regarding current service activities.
