A lot of the cooperative commentary seems to be just spitting out definitions from the book. I think the way this Wiki could be really beneficial is if we point out connections in the text that others might not see, links to outside sources for further information on topics, reflections on the significance of the theory, questions about the text, et cetera. I have tried to make my contributions in this direction; I hope others will, too. Of course, it is nice to have the key theorems and definitions collected here, so keep up the good work with that. It seems to me that this page will get increasingly ridiculously long as the course goes on. I have added links to "Chapter 0" and "Chapter 1", which would leave this page to be an outline and separate content into smaller spaces. We may find that separating sections into their own pages is overkill, but I think having chapter pages makes sense. Post here if you think this is not good. ONeilEri 15:05, 24 January 2007 (CST)

Perhaps we could move all that information over when we complete a chapter? That would make the move much easier as few will be editing the old material. CM 15:29, 24 January 2007 (CST)

If we wait to do that, we'll disconnect the edit history. It's better to make the move early (and I probably should have set up separate pages to begin with, but didn't think of it). Stone 17:54, 24 January 2007 (CST)

There should be links pointing back to this page from the sections and subsections. Ideally, this page would have expanding menus that open on the same page, but I don't know if that's possible. It's not a big deal, though, thanks to tabbed browsing. Perlmutt 12:46, 29 January 2007 (CST)

  • The Sipser section pages all have links back to this page in their "Related Pages" section on the bottom. I agree that sections should link back to their chapters and this page, but since they are being created on the fly it's likely their creators won't remember or think to link back. I don't know anything about templates, but are they hard to create or use? One could be made for sections that includes links back. On the other hand, it's not like this wiki will ever get so large that it's cumbersome to hit "back" in the browser, so it may not be worth the effort. ONeilEri 13:31, 29 January 2007 (CST)
